With February being heart health month I was thinking, anti-gay marriage folks say that homosexuals make a mockery of marriage, and that they would only serve to raise divorce rates and suchnot, right? Well, if heart disease is like the second leading killer of women and if women live longer than men, then doesn't it make sense that statistically lesbian marriages last longer on average than heterosexual marriages (ie, men in heterosexual marriages that work out die first, and lesbians--being women--live longer, and therefore the lesbian marriages that work out last longer). Did you get that? It's a little convoluted, but well, read it through a coupla times and see what you think. Only really half serious about this, mostly I think it's a little fun to think about and half ridiculous (much in the way that people think gay marriage is wrong is ridiculous).
In that same vein, here's a really cute comic:
| here's a link if you can't read the ridiculously smallness, haha |
"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to."
While we're talking about funny relationship things, I'm sure a lot of you (my four readers) have heard this song. But how many of you know that on the B side of the record there was a sort of ...well, to be blunt a "Fuck you, Judy" song?
In other news, (totally unrelated to relationships I think) I saw "I Am Number Four" this weekend! All I can say is Woah. Good movie, and I usually hate alien movies. But gooood movie. Set up perfectly for a sequel. Hopefully numbers 5, 7, 8, and 9 are as good as number 6 (who is completely bad ass, and I'll be pissed as hell if she hooks up with tha lil skinny dorky kid whose name I can't remember at the moment! Grrrr). Well, if you haven't heard of this movie (and therefore have been living under a rock), here's the trailer!
On a related note, there are SO MANY movies coming out I want to see. I might make a list tab and cross them off come March. Just a thought.
But anyways, I was watching late night TV the other night and I saw Sam Jackson talking about how he's in "Thor", "Iron Man 2" (and sort of the first "Iron Man"), "Captain America", and "The Avengers", and I thought to myself, FINALLY! Finally the comic community has gotten its shit together and is going to go for a little continuity. Maybe I'm a dork to be so freaking thrilled about this tidbit, but so what? Sometimes in life you just have to smile at the little things.
"Some days there's pie."
