Rummaging in the Lost & Found

I usually reserve my more personal posts for my other blog, but I'm going to make an exception just this once and do the inverse. (Followers of AEiH, can expect my meme post to be available on interwebs near you shortly after this post goes up.)

How many of you have lost something, someone, yourself? Everyone? Okay, good, now we're all on the same page.

Lately, I've been feeling a bit...well, lost. I keep tryin to act "normal," but I can't seem to remember how that goes. I think that's why my latest quasi-relationship/dating/weird thing went flat (Captain America never was really the type to have a solid love interest, Sharon rejects his proposal after all). I feel like a soda with the cap left off. I've lost my fizzle folks! Anyways, that's the explanation of today's theme. Now to get down to it!

I LOVE this guy. Seriously, I've no idea why he's not a bigger success (probably because he actually has talent, just a thought). Thankfully, he's in the studio at the moment, so my lust for his music has hope for being sated in the future. (Score!)

This place is pretty awesome. I used to fly probably six times a year, and I've have only had my baggage misplaced once! (It was sort of my own fault, I transferred flights after I'd already checked my bag. Word to the wise, your checked bag's already coded for your original flight and airport staff are Not supposed to let you transfer flights after you've already checked a bag because it Will result in misplaced luggage. But it all worked out, and I looked show-stopping in my guy's black silk shirt at that wedding, so, happy ending!)

Hmmm, I super hope they mega swipe clean those laptops, mp3 devices, and cellphones....

Deviating from our theme slightly (well, there could be a tie in of disappointment being lost joy, but I'll let you philosophers sink your teeth into that bit and leave me to my strange mood...rawr!).... Dragon Age 2 came out yesterday. For those of you who played the demo, you know just how different it is from the first one. Why the creators chose to basically turn it into a completely different (and crappy) game, I can only guess at, but I'm sorry to say that I am heartbroken. (Should I be equally upset about my aforementioned semi-breakup and this game being so terrible? Because I am. Is that wrong?)

One good thing I lost today was my crippling procrastination (which derives from my fear of the future, which is a whole other, more AEiH-related issue)! =^.^=

So! I put in three job applications yesterday, and I already heard back from one with a Contingent job offer (provided I pass a test, a drug test, a background check, a credit check, and complete some training). The pay is literally double what I'm making now, and it would be a fantastic step towards my career goals. Not everyone's dream job, but then again, I never claimed to be just anyone. Also (and more exciting in a way), as promised LONG ago *drumroll* picts of the dress I'm working on! That's right, I'm crafty, watch me being all awesome.

My Workspace

Everything I need! Look at me being all organized...for once!

From left to right, red strap & band accent color fabric, white cotton muslin underlay (basically to keep the dress from being Completely see-through), and the main dress fabric (Cherries!!). All are cotton.

Two complete muslin underlay bits and the half done red band. I've also cut out all but 3 of the, like, 10 pattern pieces for the remainder of the dress. (So now I have to trace them on my fabric and cut the fabric to that shape, then the sewing begins. Dun dun dunnnnn!)

Now, to bring it all back to our theme de jour, I got the updated installment of this saga (I say saga because I'm a dork, but it's actually true. So, I guess I should call it something else since saga seems to imply some sort of fiction, but I also think saga implies epicness, which I think this story has--epic Awesomeness!). This story really speaks to the travel-loving, dreamer, secret hopeless romantic in me. I hope you like it too.
